Perch work is important if you are going to be training your dog to play disc.
Start working with your dog early. If you have a puppy this video shows how to do the training.
Ira and I are working on the low pedestal doing perch work. Perch work is to help a dog learn rear end awareness and teach him to move his back feet to get into position to do heel work.
We aren't going to use it like that but are just teaching him to spin himself around on the pedestal.

Showing how breeds that are considered "untrainable", "stubborn", "difficult" or "less intelligent" can learn to do dog sports and enjoy different activities and are actually NOT less intelligent after all.
